SRINAGAR: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) today witnessed an overwhelming response to its Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET), reflecting a growing preference among students for institutions offering innovation-driven and future-ready academic programmes.
The entrance examination for undergraduate courses was conducted smoothly across 20 designated examination centres, including 18 in Srinagar and 2 in Jammu. Over 17,000 candidates appeared for the test, competing for 900 seats available in 14 undergraduate disciplines. The examination recorded an impressive attendance rate of 94 percent.
The unprecedented response is being attributed to SKUAST-K’s strategic focus on market-oriented, cutting-edge curricula and its innovative pedagogical framework aimed at preparing students for emerging opportunities in agriculture, allied sectors, industry, entrepreneurship and technology-driven careers.
To ensure the highest standards of transparency, confidentiality and efficiency, the University put in place a comprehensive multi-layered examination management system. From paper setting and printing to transportation and distribution at examination centres, strict security protocols were maintained throughout the process.
A coordinated effort involving SKUAST-K officers, faculty members, centre coordinators, invigilation staff, police and civil administration ensured the smooth and hassle-free conduct of the examination across all centres.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, accompanied by the Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Director Education and other senior university officers, visited several examination centres to oversee the arrangements and monitor the conduct of the examination.
The University reiterated its commitment to academic excellence and quality education, stating that the strong participation reflects increasing confidence among students and parents in SKUAST-K’s academic programmes and career-oriented approach.
