SHOPIAN: In a continued drive to curb illegal mining activities, J&K Police have seized one JCB, three dumpers and two tractors involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from the Zainapora and Shopian areas.
Two dumpers were seized by Police Station Zainapora for operating without valid royalty documents. In this regard, FIR No. 95/2025 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Zainapora and investigation has been initiated. In a similar action, one dumper and one tractor engaged in illegal extraction of minerals were seized by Police Post Turkwangam. Consequently, FIR No. 96/2025 under relevant provisions of law has been registered at Police Station Zainapora and further investigation is underway.
Moreover, Police Station Shopian seized one JCB and one tractor found extracting minerals illegally without valid royalty documents. In this connection, FIR No. 229/2025 under relevant provisions of law has been registered and investigation has been taken up.
