KULGAM & GANDERBAL:  As part of the observance of Police Commemoration Day, Police Flag Day, and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, J&K police organized debate competitions on the theme “Role of Police in Nation Building’’ in Kulgam & Ganderbal.

In Kulgam, debate competitions were held at Government Degree College DH Pora and Government Higher secondary school Ashmuji Kulgam.  These events aimed to highlight the crucial role of the police in maintaining law and order, safeguarding national integrity, and promoting peace, harmony, and public trust—key pillars of nation-building. Students and faculty members participated enthusiastically, sharing insightful views on the responsibilities and challenges faced by the police in strengthening the democratic framework and ensuring justice. Senior police officers including DySP DAR Kulgam, college faculty, and members of the civil society attended the programme. At the conclusion, participants were felicitated with certificates and mementoes for their commendable participation and thought-provoking ideas.

In Ganderbal, J&K Police organises debate competition at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Kangan. Students from various schools of the area participated enthusiastically and expressed their thoughts on how the Police act as a vital pillar in safeguarding democracy, maintaining law and order, and fostering unity and progress in the country. The debate witnessed an engaging exchange of ideas and a strong display of confidence and talent among the participants. The event was graced by officers of Ganderbal Police, school faculty members, and prominent citizens of Kangan area.

On the said occasion, Addl. SP Ganderbal Shri Owaise Loun-JKPS and other senior Police Officers appreciated the efforts of students for their insightful speeches and highlighted that such programs help strengthen the bond between Police and the community, particularly the youth. At the conclusion of the event, Cash prizes and Appreciation Certificates were distributed among the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders

J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to engage with the youth through such interactive platforms to promote awareness, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the role of law enforcement in building a safe and strong nation.
