SHOPIAN: The One Stop Centre (OSC) Shopian, under the Department of Social Welfare, today organized an awareness programme at the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Girls’ Library, Old DC Office, Shopian.
The initiative was aimed at sensitizing the girls regarding the range of services and assistance provided by the OSC and to enhance awareness about the Women Helpline 181.
During the session, the girls were apprised of various problems concerning blackmailing, women trafficking, domestic violence and other forms of harassment. They were further briefed on the functioning of the Women Helpline 181 Control Room, including its role in providing immediate assistance and facilitating timely intervention in distress situations.
During the programme, the girls were encouraged to approach the One Stop Centre or contact the helpline in case of any such incidents requiring support, protection, or counselling.
Awareness pamphlets containing detailed information about OSC services and helpline facilities were distributed among all the girls to promote accessibility and strengthen awareness at the community level.
