JAMMU: The Synergetic Green Warriors Foundation (SGWF) celebrated Hindi Diwas with a special plantation drive at Naiwala Ashram, Subhush Shastri Maharaj's Ashram. The event saw participation from Sandeep Sharma, Treasurer of SGWF, and Prithivi Raj Sharma, along with disciples of Bal Brahmachari Pawan Swaroop Ji Maharaj. As part of this initiative, Summer Apple, Rudraksh, Parijaat, and Raj Harar plants were planted within the ashram premises.
These plants were nurtured by SGWF’s Research & Development Division, led by Dr. Rakesh Verma. Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF, discussed the functioning of the R&D division and its efforts to preserve unique plant species suitable for hot climatic conditions.
Reeta Verma, National President of SGWF, and Makhani Verma, Vice President of SGWF, delivered inspiring speeches on the occasion, underscoring the importance of environmental protection and the role of Hindi in uniting communities for social causes.
In her address, Makhani Verma emphasized the foundation’s commitment to creating a sustainable environment through initiatives like the ‘Adopt a Tree’ campaign. She expressed her pride in SGWF’s efforts to not only conserve nature but also involve communities across India in a meaningful way. Highlighting the significance of Hindi Diwas, she said, "हिंदी हमारी मातृभाषा है और यह हमारी पहचान है। पर्यावरण संरक्षण की इस लड़ाई में हम हिंदी के माध्यम से लोगों को जोड़ने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं।" (Hindi is our mother tongue, and it is our identity. We are trying to unite people in the fight for environmental protection through Hindi.)
Reeta Verma spoke about SGWF’s ongoing projects and the organization’s goal of planting 25,000 trees across India this year. She mentioned that the success of these initiatives lies in community participation, especially with campaigns like ‘Adopt a Tree’ and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.’ She further elaborated on how the foundation aligns its environmental mission with cultural and religious values, stating, "पेड़ लगाना केवल पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा नहीं है, यह हमारी संस्कृति और विरासत को संरक्षित करने का भी एक माध्यम है।" (Planting trees is not only about protecting the environment, it is also a way to preserve our culture and heritage.)
Dr. Sonia Verma, Director/CEO of SGWF emphasized the role of SGWF’s R&D division in promoting plant species like Summer Apple and Raj Harar, which are adapted to changing climatic conditions. Dr. Verma said, "हमारा उद्देश्य केवल पेड़ लगाना नहीं है, बल्कि एक ऐसे भविष्य का निर्माण करना है जहां हर परिवार पर्यावरण संरक्षण में अपनी भागीदारी निभाए।" (Our goal is not just to plant trees but to create a future where every family plays a role in environmental protection.)
Maharaj Ji appreciated SGWF’s efforts and the theme "Adopt a Tree," initiated by the foundation. He remarked on the importance of such campaigns in ensuring a greener future and urged more organizations to follow SGWF’s example. "पेड़ लगाना न केवल हमारे समाज को सुंदर बनाता है बल्कि आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए एक सुरक्षित पर्यावरण भी सुनिश्चित करता है।" (Planting trees not only beautifies our society but also ensures a safe environment for future generations.)
The campaign, which has been a resounding success across various states including Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana, was applauded by Bal Brahmachari Pawan Swaroop Ji Maharaj. Under this initiative, SGWF has facilitated the planting and adoption of thousands of trees, promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among communities.
The plantation drive at Naiwala Ashram on the eve of Hindi Diwas stands as a testament to SGWF’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community involvement.
