REASI: Under the visionary leadership of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi (Pr. District and Sessions Judge) Khalil Choudhary and the guidance of Secretary Pooja Gupta, an awareness programme regarding the Rights of Women was conducted today by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of TLSC Mahore at LAC Shajroo and Chassana.

The PLVs sensitized the participants about the legal rights and protections available to women under the law. Emphasis was laid on issues such as protection against domestic violence, right to equality, right to education, legal remedies for harassment and the importance of reporting grievances through proper legal channels.

The participants were also informed about the role of Legal Services Authorities in providing free legal aid and assistance to eligible persons, particularly women belonging to weaker sections of society. Another awareness programme on the rights of Tribal communities was conducted by the Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Reasi near the local Bus Stand.

The programme was organized with the objective of educating members of tribal communities about their legal rights, government welfare schemes and the protections available under the law.

The PLVs highlighted key provisions related to the rights of Scheduled Tribes, including access to education, healthcare, land rights and protection against exploitation and discrimination. The participants were also informed about the availability of free legal aid services through DLSA and how they can approach legal aid clinics for assistance in resolving their grievances.
