SRINAGAR: Government College for Women, Nawakadal, organized a comprehensive cleanliness and anti-substance drive under the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative. Led by the College Well Being and Anti-Substance Cell (CWASC) in collaboration with the NCC units, the event focused on maintaining a pristine campus and conducting ground inspections to ensure a substance-free environment.
The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Huda Galzai opened the event by discussing its core objectives, emphasizing that a drug-free campus is the cornerstone of holistic education and urging students to act as "vigilant ambassadors" of change within their own communities. She further highlighted that physical cleanliness serves as a powerful deterrent to negative influences, creating a sanctuary for mental and academic growth.
Dr. Nuzhat Jan, Coordinator CWASC/NCORD reinforced this by highlighting the vital link between environmental hygiene and drug de-addiction, while Dr. Humeera Yousuf, CTO NCC noted that such drives instill the discipline and confidence essential to cadets.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, general students, and faculty members including Prof. Rukhsana Shawl and Dr. Nusrat (HOD Psychology), alongside the college's gardening and sweeping staff, all working together to promote community health and a safe educational atmosphere.
