In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

BUDGAM: J&K Police observed ‘Thana Diwas’ across all Police Stations and Police Posts in district Budgam to strengthen police–public relations and promote community policing. The programme was held at Police Stations Magam, Chadoora, Charar-i-Shareif, Khansahib, Budgam, Beerwah and Khag, and Police Posts Pakherpora, Soibugh, Humhama, Narbal, Hardupanzo, Waterhail and Mouchwa. The events were chaired by the respective jurisdictional officers and witnessed active participation from local residents.

Various public grievances and policing-related issues were raised during the interactions and were patiently heard by the officers concerned. The public was assured that all genuine issues would be addressed in a time-bound manner. Citizens were also urged to cooperate with the police in maintaining peace and public order, preventing crime, curbing drug abuse and identifying anti-social elements.

Thana Diwas is a flagship initiative of the J&K Police aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability and police–public cooperation through direct engagement. J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to people-friendly policing and stated that such outreach programmes will continue in the future.
