HANDWARA: In a major action against narcotics-linked illegal activities under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, J&K Police in Handwara, in close coordination with the District Administration, retrieved 05 Kanals of Govt land illegally encroached upon by a known drug peddler in the Budshungi area of Tehsil Zachaldara.
The encroached land was found under the illegal occupation of Showket Ahmad Khatana son of Kammar-U-Din Khatana, who is involved in FIR No. 234/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Handwara. Acting firmly against individuals involved in narcotics-related activities and unlawful encroachments, the joint team carried out the retrieval operation after completing all necessary legal procedures. The illegally occupied land was successfully restored, and further legal action as warranted under law has been initiated.
This decisive action demonstrates the unwavering commitment of Police and District Administration to dismantle the ecosystem supporting drug trafficking and other unlawful activities.
