RAJOURI: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, meetings of Mahila Nigrani Committees were organized in different panchayats of Sub Division Kotranka to intensify ongoing 100-day campaign under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan.

Across the district, 1,670 Mahila Samitis have been constituted, with training and activation sessions being organized at the sub-division level. Similarly, in Sub Division Kotranka, such sessions are being conducted to ensure effective functioning of the committees.

The initiative aims to strengthen grassroots-level vigilance and community participation in curbing the menace of drug abuse. Women from adjoining panchayats actively participated in the meetings and pledged to play a proactive role in identifying and reporting drug-related activities in their respective areas.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Dilmir Chowdhary, while addressing the gatherings, emphasized the vital role of women in safeguarding society from the ill effects of substance abuse. He urged the committee members to remain vigilant and work in close coordination with the administration and law enforcement agencies to make the campaign successful.

He further highlighted that awareness, early intervention and collective responsibility are key to achieving the objective of a drug-free society. The participants were also sensitized about the harmful impact of drug addiction on individuals, families and society at large.

Similar interactions have also been organized in Darhal and Nowshera, where Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma and SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar were personally present and interacted with the committee members.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment to intensify the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan through sustained outreach, awareness drives and community-based interventions across all panchayats. Additional SP Wajahat, CDPO Budhal Hannan Shawl, along with other sectoral officers were also present on the occasion.
