PULWAMA: Under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Police in Pulwama carried out a series of focused enforcement, inspection, and awareness measures across the district to curb drug abuse and strengthen preventive mechanisms.

Police conducted intensive search operations at Ayangund Shadimarg and Thokerpora, targeting the residences of suspected drug peddlers as well as focusing on vulnerable individuals involved in substance abuse. These operations were aimed at dismantling local drug networks and breaking the cycle of drug addiction at the grassroots level.

Simultaneously, Police carried out inspections of medical shops across various areas, including Rajpora, to ensure strict compliance with norms governing the sale of scheduled drugs and controlled substances. During the checking, stock registers, sale records, and prescriptions were thoroughly examined, while CCTV systems were also verified to ensure transparency and accountability.

In addition, inspection drives and awareness activities were conducted at Nikas and Gabalpora, where members of the public were sensitized about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraged to actively support anti-drug initiatives.

Police reiterates its firm commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and urges the general public to come forward with any information related to drug peddling or substance abuse, thereby contributing towards a drug-free society.
