• Massive participation, collective Hanuman Chalisa recitation and grand Bhandara spread message of faith, unity and spiritual awakening in today’s stressful times

JAMMU: In an inspiring display of faith, unity and spiritual devotion, Shanivari Amavasya was celebrated with immense religious fervour at the Shiv Temple in Sector-7, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, where thousands of devotees from different sections of society gathered to seek blessings and participate in a spiritually uplifting programme.

The grand event was organised by the Mandir Committee under the leadership of President Shiv Kumar Jolly and senior member Vijay Vaid. The temple premises witnessed an overwhelming rush of devotees throughout the day, reflecting the growing inclination of people towards spirituality and religious gatherings in the present era marked by stress, anxiety and fast-paced lifestyles.

The repeated chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa emerged as the central attraction of the programme and created a deeply devotional atmosphere that resonated throughout the temple complex. Devotees participated with great enthusiasm and unwavering faith, turning the event into a powerful symbol of collective spiritual energy and social harmony.

In today’s materialistic and technology-driven world, where people often struggle with mental stress, isolation and social disconnect, such religious and spiritual programmes play an important role in restoring inner peace, emotional balance and cultural values. The large participation of youth, women, elderly citizens and families highlighted the continued relevance of spiritual traditions in strengthening moral values and preserving India’s rich cultural heritage.

The programme also served as a reminder of the importance of community bonding and collective prayer in promoting positivity and social unity. Temple President Shiv Kumar Jolly said that it was perhaps the first time such a massive rush of devotees had been witnessed at the temple on Shanivari Amavasya. He expressed gratitude to the devotees for participating with immense faith and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the temple management committee and volunteers for successfully organising the event in a disciplined and peaceful manner.

He further stated that religious programmes of this nature are not merely rituals but important social platforms that inspire people towards humanity, discipline, compassion and collective responsibility. He emphasised that in the present era, where society is facing increasing social and psychological challenges, spiritual gatherings help in spreading hope, positivity and moral consciousness among people.
