SAMBA: NSS Unit 'Prabha' and NCORD of Government Degree College, Ramgarh, in collaboration with Health and Medical education Department Directorate of Ayush, organised an awareness programme on 'Disease Free India, Healthy India". The programme was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and encourage individuals to adopt measures that prevent diseases and promote overall well-being. The event was organised under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Brham Dutt, who outlined the significance of the initiative and emphasized the need for a collective effort in achieving a disease-free and healthy India. He stressed the importance of making informed health choices and the role of both prevention and early intervention in ensuring long-term health.
The distinguished guest speakers for the event were Dr. Rozy and yoga instructor Pooja from the Health and Medical Department. Dr. Rozy delivered a powerful and informative lecture on ill-effects of drug abuse and on various aspects of health and well-being, providing valuable insights into maintaining a disease-free lifestyle.
Pooja demonstrated various Asanas and explained their benefits in enhancing physical health and mental peace. Her session left a lasting impact, encouraging attendees to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for better health. The programme ended with a pledge taken by all attendees to fight against drug abuse, highlighting the importance of living a drug-free life for better health and well-being.
The event was attended by all faculty members of the college. This awareness programme successfully contributed to raising consciousness about health and wellness, fostering a sense of responsibility among the students and staff to work towards a disease-free and healthy future.
