Awantipora: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora, under the aegis of the Office of the Dean Outreach, conducted an admission outreach programme across various educational institutions in District Ganderbal as part of the University's Academic Outreach Programme.
The Ganderbal team, functioning as part of the Core Admission Outreach Team (COAT) for the Srinagar Zone under the chairpersonship of Dr. Monisa Qadiri, was led by Dr. Tariq Ahmad Ganaie, Associate Professor, Department of Food Technology. The team comprised Dr. Mehnaz Rasool Malik, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr. Mehraj Rehman Sofi, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies; Dr. Noor-u-Din Reshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry; and Dr. Sajad, Department of Arabic Language and Literature.
During the interactive sessions, the faculty members briefed students about the diverse undergraduate and integrated programmes offered at IUST, the admission process, and the University's student-centric academic environment. They highlighted IUST's NEP 2020-aligned curriculum, multidisciplinary approach, experienced faculty, modern infrastructure, research facilities, and newly introduced programmes in emerging areas, alongside its established academic disciplines.
The speakers also emphasized the University's focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, skill development, and industry engagement, encouraging students to become job creators as well as job seekers. The sessions concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which students sought guidance on admissions, scholarships, career opportunities, and campus life.
The outreach programme was well received by students and the school authorities, who appreciated IUST's sustained efforts to promote awareness about quality higher education and inspire young learners to pursue academic excellence while preparing for the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
