BARAMULLA: As part of its sustained campaign against the menace of narcotic drugs and in furtherance of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, J&K Police carried out an extensive wild cannabis (bhang) destruction drive at multiple locations across the district Baramulla.

During the drive, wild cannabis plants growing along the roadside from Village Isham to Nawarunda and on the banks of the irrigation canal were identified and destroyed on the spot, preventing their misuse for illicit purposes.

In another operation, Baramulla Police, in collaboration with local residents, conducted a similar wild cannabis destruction drive at Nowpora, where naturally grown bhang plants were uprooted and destroyed.

The active participation of the local community reflected a shared commitment towards building a drug-free society. The entire drive was conducted peacefully and concluded successfully without any untoward incident.

Police remains committed to its zero-tolerance policy against narcotic drugs and appeals to the general public to actively support the anti-drug campaign by reporting any instances of illegal cultivation, trafficking, or abuse of narcotic substances. Community participation is essential in realizing the vision of a safe, healthy, and drug-free society.
