KATRA: NSS unit of SMVDU concludes it's 7 days special camp at Mansar with an awareness rally in collaboration with the All Women National Integration Camp (NIC), organized jointly by Government College for Women (GCW), Parade Ground, Jammu, and Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women (PSPS GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Pragati Kumar, as the chief guest.
The rally, focused on the conservation of nature and wetlands. 200 girls volunteers throughout India participating in national integration camp at Jammu also joined the rally with NSS SMVDU volunteers. Dr. Rajiv Kumar, NSS Programme Coordinator, SMVDU welcomed and briefed everyone about the final day events of the special camp. Prof. Pragati Kumar flagged off the rally along with Sh. Neeraj Gupta, JKAS, finance officer SMVDU, NIC Coordinator Dr. Gurpreet Kaur. Afterwards, a cultural exchange program was organized during the valedictory function at Mansar boat Club. SMVDU volunteers presented various cultural performances during the event.
A local specially abled folk singer Mr. Rinku also performed during the event and felicitated by the dignitaries. Shri Davender Katoch, CEO of Mansar Surinsar Development Authority also visited the camp site and interacted with SMVDU volunteers on final day of camp. NSS SMVDU student coordinators Sadhvi Sharma and Abhishek Sharma coordinated the whole camp. Resource persons from District Administration, Udhampur visited the camp on daily basis and briefed the Volunteers about various Government schemes being implemented in the camp area.
