- DC announces plan for week-long promotional activities
POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today flagged off a Scooty rally here from the DC office to mark the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. The grand rally passed main areas of the Poonch Township and culminated at Dhallan Bridge. The event was organized by the Social Welfare Department.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the significant improvements in women's education, women's empowerment, and child sex ratios achieved over the past ten years. He emphasized that the district administration is committed to furthering these initiatives through a series of week-long activities aimed at promoting the goals of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
District Social Welfare Officer Wakeel Ahmed Bhat also spoke about the programme, outlining plans for community engagement activities throughout the week to raise awareness about the critical importance of educating and uplifting girls.
The Deputy Commissioner called on all citizens to participate actively in these efforts, reinforcing the message of the programme that aims to protect and empower the girl child. In addition to the rally, a signature campaign was also held to encourage community support for the programme.
