JAMMU: A seminar was organised in support of the 'One Nation-One Election' campaign at Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir. Former Deputy Mayor Jammu & senior BJP leader Baldev Singh Billawaria was the keynote speaker, while District Development Council Chairman Lal Chand, District President Arun Gupta also addressed the seminar. Addressing the seminar, Billawaria said that such events are being organised across the country to meet the campaign of One Nation-One Election.

He said that for many reasons, 'One Nation-One Election is in the national interest', if you agree with One Nation-One Election then everyone should write a letter to the President of India to support the 'One Nation-One Election'. He said that everyone should form groups and list the benefits of One Nation-One Election campaign among every section, only then it will become an issue of the country.

Presenting figures while explaining the benefits of One Nation-One Election, Billawaria said that during the last 5 years, Rs. 6.5 lakh crore were spent in the Lok Sabha and all state elections. If the elections were held simultaneously, only Rs. 1.5 lakh crore would have been spent and Rs. 5 lakh crore would have been saved. He said that the entire budget of any one department of education or health of the country is spent in elections, so today the country needs 'One Nation-One Election'. Billawaria urges good intellectuals who have skills in different areas to support  'One Nation-One Election' in the interest of the country.

He said that earlier also Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi took very important decisions in the interest of the country which the public has supported very well. He said that I have full faith that the public will also support the proposal of Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi of  'One Nation-One Election'. Udhampur District Development Council Chairman Lal Chand along with his members gave his support to the resolution of  'One Nation-One Election'.

He said that the resolution of  'One Nation-One Election' is the need of the hour, and also appealed to non-social organizations and enlightened people to write a letter of support to the President of India in this regard. District President Arun Gupta said that a campaign will be launched to connect the common people with the benefits of  'One Nation-One Election'.

He said that for the prosperity of the country and to avoid unnecessary expenditure, we all should play an important role in this public awareness campaign. In this seminar members of Udhampur District Development Council, Municipal Committee Udhampur and other social organisations supported the proposal of 'One Nation One Election', the seminar concluded with the National Anthem.
