POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to evaluate the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district. The meeting aimed to streamline the installation of solar rooftop systems and enhance public awareness regarding the scheme's benefits.
At the outset, the Executive Engineer JPDCL delivered an in-depth PowerPoint presentation detailing the objectives and advantages of the scheme. It was reported that out of 570 applications received, 61 solar units have already been installed, with 48 cases approved for loan schemes by banks.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Executive Engineer to ensure the installation of 100th solar units by April 12, 2025. He urged vendors to commence the installation of Solar Rooftop Systems (SRTs) for sanctioned applicants methodically. The DC emphasized the need for public awareness and participation. He instructed the Executive Engineer to actively involve stakeholders and enlighten them about the numerous benefits and incentives associated with the solar energy scheme.
This initiative represents a strategic effort to empower consumers and facilitate their access to the government's solar energy program, reinforcing the commitment of the administration to sustainable energy solutions. The Deputy Commissioner underscored the pivotal role of collaborative efforts in achieving maximum outreach and ensuring the successful execution of the scheme across Poonch district.
