JK MONITOR - Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals, Police seizes 03 vehicles in Awantipora

AWANTIPORA: In a significant crackdown on illegal mining activities, Police have seized 03 vehicles engaged in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Police District (PD) Awantipora. A police party headed by Incharge Police Post Reshipora seized 03 vehicles (one JCB bearing registration number TP74082CM1015590 and 02 Tippers bearing registration numbers Jk05-6580, JK01L-9877) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Reshipora Awantipora.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 65/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated. Police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any such illegal activities by dialing 112. They assured that strict legal action would be taken against those violating mining regulations.
