RAJOURI: Department of Political Science, Government Degree College (GDC) Rajouri, organized a valedictory function to mark the conclusion of a 15-day internship program for the 5th-semester students of Political Science. The program was conducted in collaboration with the District Administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma.

As part of this internship, these students were placed at the disposal of District Information Officer (DIO) Rajouri, Ashiq Rafiq Malik , to gain hands-on experience in various administrative and electoral activities. During the internship, the students actively participated in the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, monitored social media platforms, and contributed to the operations of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC).

The students were also trained in the mechanisms ensuring the transparency of the election process, as mandated by the Election Commission of India (ECI). This initiative aimed to provide practical insights into governance, media monitoring, and the electoral process. The valedictory function was presided over by Principal GDC Rajouri, KK Sharma, who commended the students for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to apply their learnings to future endeavors.

Speaking on the occasion, the DIO emphasized the importance of internship programs in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. He stated that such programs provide students with invaluable exposure to real-world challenges and equip them with the skills necessary for professional growth. He encouraged students to make the most of these opportunities to enhance their understanding of governance and administration.

Head of the Political Science Department, Assistant Professor Murtaza Ahmed, who organized the program, expressed his gratitude to the District Administration for their cooperation and support in making the internship program a success. He highlighted the importance of such collaborative efforts in fostering experiential learning and thanked all stakeholders for their contributions.

Assistant Professor Khaleeq Ahmed also addressed the gathering and shared his experiences, motivating the students to delve deeper into understanding the dynamics of public administration and policy implementation.
