- Doorstep services provided to Tribal community members
POONCH: A Mega Gram Sabha of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DAJGUA) was held today here at Border Village Gulpur Poonch to discuss development and uplift of tribal communities living in the area. Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan was launched on this year’s Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebrated to honour the legendary Tribal leader and Freedom Fighter Birsa Munda.
The event was organised by Rural Development Department (RDD) and presided by Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Vikas Kundal. A large number of people belonging to the tribal dominated villages and adjoining areas attended the function. Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal highlighted the achievements of Birsa Munda, a tribal leader from Jharkhand, who stood against the British.
The programme offered services like issuance of disability certificate, labour card, Aadhaar card, golden card and job card registration and rectification, besides awareness on Dengue and other diseases. The members from tribal communities and the general public on the occasion highlighted numerous demands seeking upgrading of Health, Education and Agricultural Infrastructure, besides clearances of cases under Forest Rights ACT and tribal empowerment.
Nasha Mukht Abhiyan pledge was taken on the occasion with the aim to remind the people with challenges of drug addiction and the need to curb the menace. The Deputy Commissioner expressed happiness over the overwhelming presence of people at the event and illustrated the different interventions to be taken by the district administration under the ambitious Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA). The program was attended by ACD, ACP, DSWO, CMO, Chief Agriculture Officer, CEO Education, PO ICDS, BDO and other concerned Officers/ Officials
