UDHAMPUR: Government Degree College Udhampur concluded the District Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament today. Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a platform for young voices to engage in national discussions and shape the vision for Viksit Bharat@2047. Govt. Degree College Udhampur, acted as the nodal institution for five districts including Udhampur, Ramban, Reasi, Kathua and Kishtwar. The event was organised in the Conference Hall of the College.
The inaugural session of the event was hosted by Dr. Jasmeet Kour where Principal, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Verma welcomed the jury members with a token of appreciation. The panel of distinguished jury members included Angraz Singh( Retd. Assistant Commissioner (Development), Prof. B.B Anand (Retd. Principal), Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal (Retd. Principal), Kushal Gupta(District Youth Officer, NYKS) and Jasveer Singh(DDC Councillor). Dr. Gurpreet Kour, District Nodal Officer gave a brief about the screening process and rules of the event. She informed that 150 participants out of 310 participants were selected by the screening Committee for the District Level event.
During the two day event, five sessions were conducted that involved 150 participants. Each participant was given 3 minutes to speak on the topic âOne Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat.â The proceedings of the session were conducted by Dr. Anju Rani, Prof. Sanjeet Singh, and Prof. Rajesh Singh Manhas.
The Valedictory Ceremony was hosted by Prof. Anoksha Sharma. It involved the felicitation of winners and jury members. A total of 10 participants were selected by the panel of jury members to represent Udhampur Nodal District in the State level Youth Parliament. The top ten winners of District level Youth Parliament are Baljit Singh, Prinka Devi, Neha Chib, Pranvi Abrol, Mohit Sharma, Vishal Roudhan, Shavi Sharma, Amit Katoch, Vishal Gupta and Ekjot Sodhi.
Later, the Principal addressed the participants highlighting the achievements of the event. In the concluding part of the Valedictory Ceremony, distinguished jury members shared their experience about the event and provided valuable feedback. The formal Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Tania Mahajan who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, judges and organisers for successful conduct of the event.
