JAMMU: A one-day free medical camp was organized today at Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Dhakki Sarajan, Old City Jammu, with the aim of providing Primary healthcare services to local residents. The camp was conducted under the initiative of Narotam Sharma , former Councillor , JMC Ward No. 3, Jammu.
The camp witnessed a large turnout of people from different sections of society. The aim of the camp was to offer free health check-ups and distribution of free medicines to the locals. Alongwith medical camp, a special team was also deputed to issue onspot Ayushman Cards to senior citizens above 70 years, Moreover, those who already had Ayushman cards were given assistance in updating them to ensure they could access quality healthcare services without any difficulties.
During inauguration of the health camp, Narotam asked residents to take full advantage of the citizen centric government schemes launched by Modi government. The camp was widely appreciated by locals, especially the old age residents and women of the area, who benefitted the most from the services provided. They thanked the organizers for making essential healthcare accessible at their doorstep. The event saw participation from medical professionals, volunteers, and social workers, who all worked together to ensure smooth execution of the initiative.
The overwhelming response from the community highlights the importance of such medical camps in bridging the gap between healthcare facilities and those who struggle to access them. Narotam promised that more such camps will be organized in the future to cater to the needs of the underprivileged sections of society.
