DODA: In a firm move to ensure food safety, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anil Kumar Thakur, under the supervision of District Magistrate, Harvinder Singh, has taken strong action against traders found selling substandard food items.

During the recent inspection and legal proceedings, five cases of food safety violations were disposed of. The defaulters, involved in selling items like Rajmash, Mong Dal, Milk Products, and Desi Ghee, were found guilty under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) 2006. A total penalty of Rs 82,000 was imposed on the violators.

ADC Anil Kumar Thakur stated that the administration is fully committed to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food for the public. He warned that any negligence in following food safety norms will not be tolerated.

The administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards food safety violations and urged all food business operators in the district to strictly follow FSSA 2006 guidelines. This action is intended to serve as a strong warning to all traders to maintain proper hygiene and food quality standards, ensuring public health remains a top priority.
