AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora today organized a one-day awareness programme titled “Yodhas – Fight Against Drug Abuse” at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora.

The event was chaired by the SDPO Awantipora, accompanied by DySP DAR Awantipora, Senior Prosecuting Officer PD Awantipora, and SHO Police Station Awantipora. The workshop saw participation from students of various colleges and schools across the Police District.

The primary objective of the programme was to raise awareness among the general public particularly students about the harmful effects and societal destruction caused by drug abuse. The initiative aimed to educate and empower young minds to stand against the growing menace of drug addiction, which is increasingly affecting the youth, especially school and college students.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers emphasized the importance of such awareness campaigns in sensitizing the student community to the devastating impact of drugs. They highlighted the urgent need to protect future generations from this deadly threat and reiterated the police department's commitment to fighting the drug menace. Students expressed their appreciation for the Police’s proactive role in guiding and supporting society in this crucial battle.
