KISHTWAR: A district-level event was organized at Cooperative Marketing Society (CMS) Kishtwar to celebrate the 71st All India Cooperative Week under the theme “Role of Cooperatives in Building Viksit Bharat.” The event was graced by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Idrees Lone, who presided over the proceedings as the chief guest.
Upon arrival, the Chief Guest inspected stalls set up by CMS, PACS, and FPOs, which showcased a diverse array of local and niche products, highlighting the strength and potential of the cooperative sector in the region.
Addressing the gathering, the ACR highlighted the importance of identifying niche areas for cooperative ventures. He emphasized the need for cooperatives to create strong market linkages that align with consumer demand, which would further enhance the sustainability and growth of the sector. In his welcome address, Assistant Registrar, Sanjay Singh emphasized the pivotal role of cooperatives in nation-building and elaborated on the central theme of this year’s All India Cooperative Week.
Assistant Registrar, Amit Sharma presented a detailed overview of the Cooperative Department’s activities in Kishtwar. He highlighted several key achievements and introduced the new initiatives launched by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. A series of informative presentations were addressed by Dr. Shimona Parihar of Animal Husbandry department, Aijaz Ahmed Khan of JKEDI and Jatinder Singh Agriculture of Agriculture department, shedding light on various schemes run by their respective departments.
Chairman CMS Kishtwar, Altaf Hussain Shah and Chairman FPO Sajjad Ahmed Khan also spoke about the significant potential and opportunities the cooperative movement offers in the district, urging the public to explore the vast possibilities within the sector. The event concluded with registration and appreciation certificates presented by the chief guest to newly registered Cooperatives and successful Cooperative Societies.
