JAMMU: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting today to review and monitor the dengue prevention and mitigation measures in the district. The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC Devansh Yadav, ADDC Jammu Sher Singh, ADC Shishir Gupta, Chief Medical Officer Dr Harbaksh Singh, Health Officer Dr Vinod Sharma and other concerned officers. The Sub Divisional Magistrates also joined through virtual mode.
The DC emphasised the importance of identifying dengue hotspots and spreading awareness through Information, Education & Communication campaigns through different media. He also discussed the treatment and management of existing dengue cases and underlined that the situation is currently under control.
Concerned officers informed the DC about the house-to-house survey being conducted to identify cases, with around 1 lakh houses visited so far. Private hospitals and diagnostic labs have been directed to strictly monitor cases and report them to the district administration. The DC appealed to the public to visit hospital immediately if they experience symptoms of dengue and to avoid self-medication.
