RAMBAN: In anticipation of the International Day of the Girl Child, the educational institutions of district Ramban, organized a series of pre-event activities aimed at raising awareness about gender equality and empowering young girls.
These events, supervised by District Social Welfare Officer Rahul Gupta, are part of a district-wide initiative. At Government Middle School Maitra, a significant number of students, teachers and staff participated in programs focusing on the importance of education and skills development for girls. Local officials delivered speeches emphasizing the need for equal opportunities for all children, particularly girls.
Interactive sessions, including drawing competitions, essay writing, and discussions on gender sensitization, were held to engage students and promote understanding of gender-related issues. A rally featuring students carrying posters and banners advocating for girls' rights and education also took place, further spreading the message.
These activities are a prelude to the International Day of the Girl Child celebrations scheduled for October 11, 2024. A variety of programs, including seminars, sports events, and skill development activities, will be held across the district to promote gender equality and recognize the achievements of girls, reinforcing the commitment to their empowerment.
