KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Friday convened a crucial meeting with officers from the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj to review the implementation of various flagship schemes, including the Aspirational Block Development Program (ABDP), Aspirational Panchayat Development Program (APDP), MGNREGA, PMAY-G, SBM-G, Awaas Plus Survey, and other key initiatives.
At the outset of the meeting, Assistant Commissioner Development Phulail Singh gave a detailed presentation on the development schemes, including physical and financial progress achieved at the block level. The meeting also covered the procurement status of essential items by Block Development Officers (BDOs), including water coolers, PA systems, tents, canopies and other items under the Area Development Plan.
Further, the DC reviewed the recovery status of PMAY defaulters and instructed Tehsildars to take stringent actions against the defaulters. âAll PMAY defaulters be summoned and required to start construction of houses within the next 15 days, with legal action to follow in case of non-complianceâ the DC stressed and advised for close monitoring of geotagging of the houses to ensure accurate tracking and progress.
A committee comprising CPO, members of the designated cell and a Village Level Committee (comprising 20 local persons) were constituted to oversee the verification of parallel works, completion of tasks and other essential activities. The DC emphasized the achievement of 100% Aadhaar seeding and also reviewed the status of the plantation drive under MGNREGA.
Further, the DC directed ACD to submit the details of total job card holders and corresponding demands. Furthermore, Tehsildars were instructed to identify suitable land for the construction of Panchayat Ghars. The DC also reviewed the construction of compost pits and set a 5-day deadline for BDOs to verify individual household latrines (IHHL). Additionally, strict actions were outlined for blacklisting contractors who fail to meet the required standards of work, and re-tendering will be initiated where necessary.
The DC set a deadline of March 4 for all BDOs to finalize the list of works to be taken up under the upcoming Capex Budget after approval from the Gram Sabhas. The meeting was attended by CPO Shahnawaz Bali, ACD/ACP Phulail Singh, all BDOs, XEN REW, AD Planning RDD, AEEs, JEs, Panchayat Account Assistants, all Tehsildars, Panchayat Secretaries (via virtual mode) and other RDD officials.
