SRINAGAR: The District Floriculture Office Anantnag today strongly refuted the information circulated on various media platforms regarding illegal felling of trees in Rani Bagh.

While refuting the said information, the concerned officer of the department said, "It has come to the notice that misleading information is being circulated regarding allegedly illegal tree felling in Rani Bagh, Anantnag which is factually incorrect and baseless." The facts are that only pruning of dried and hazardous branches of old Chinar trees was carried out with due authorization to ensure public safety, he said.

Following an open auction conducted on January 09, 2025 under the supervision of the District Floriculture officer, the process was conducted transparently and in accordance with regulations. The public has been advised to refrain from sharing misleading information and have been asked to verify facts from the concerned authorities.
