RAJOURI: Government Degree College Sunderbani has taken a significant step towards fostering local empowerment and providing quality services to its students and staff by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JK Livelihood Mission for running a canteen by Bhumi Self-Help Group.
This partnership aims to establish and operate the college canteen, ensuring hygienic and affordable food options while supporting local entrepreneurs. The signing ceremony was held at GDC Sunderbani, attended by the college principal, faculty members, student representatives, and members of JK Livelihood Mission and Bhumi Self-Help Group. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of GDC Sunderbani emphasized the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and community-based organizations.
"This initiative aligns with our vision to encourage community participation and entrepreneurship while addressing the day-to-day needs of our students and staff", the Principal stated.
JK Livelihood Mission, known for its commitment to promoting self-reliance and economic independence among its members, especially women, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration. Bhumi Self-Help Group leader highlighted how this opportunity would provide exposure to their skills and contribute to their economic growth.
