- Violation of Federation rules unacceptable, two weeks ultimatum given for clarification: Chief Spokesperson Farooq Malik
SRINAGAR: The Chief Spokesperson of the Mechanical Irrigation Employees Federation (MIEF), Farooq Ahmad Malik, has issued a strong rebuttal to the news published in Local Daily Newspaper on January 11, 2025, which falsely claimed that he appointed Mukhtar Ahmad Yatoo, alias Raqib Zia, as the General Secretary of the Federation. Malik clarified that the statement was entirely false and misleading, issued arbitrarily by Shiraz Ahmad Digoo, who has already been suspended from the Federation.
Farooq Ahmad Malik further stated that Shiraz Digoo, without consulting the central and executive committees, made with unauthorized decisions in the name of the Federation, which is a blatant violation of its rules and regulations. "Shiraz Digoo was suspended earlier, and disciplinary proceedings were initiated against him. However, he has failed to appear before the Federationâs office and provide any explanation regarding his suspension,"
Malik said, adding that Digoo's repeated misconduct and disregard for rules have forced the Federation to take stern action. The Chief Spokesperson also announced that a two-week deadline has been given to Shiraz Digoo to submit a detailed clarification. "If he fails to do so, further action will be taken against him," Malik warned. He urged all relevant authorities, officials of the Irrigation and Flood Control Department and print and electronic media not to entertain or publish any statements made by Shiraz Digoo, as he holds no legal authority to represent the Federation.
In conclusion, Farooq Ahmad Malik emphasized that all decisions within the Federation are made with the approval of the central and executive committees. He condemned Digooâs unauthorized use of his name, calling it both false and a serious breach of the Federationâs rules. Malik reiterated the Federationâs commitment to maintaining discipline and professionalism, warning that such misleading actions would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
