BANJAR (HP) The two-day International Conference held at Government College Banjar on August 14, 2024, on the theme "Identity, Culture, Development and Environment in the Himalayas: Challenges and Future Prospects" concluded successfully. The second day's proceedings were chaired by the college Principal Dr. Renuka Thapliyal, who was also the Chief Guest of the conference..
The invited speakers for the day included Dr. Pawan Kumar, Assistant Professor and Head of the Geography Department, Chaudhary Bansi Lal University, Haryana, and Dr. Ruchi Ramesh, Principal, Government College Dadlaghaat, District Solan, who shared their views through online mode[3]. The technical session was chaired by Dr. Dinesh Singh, Assistant Professor, Commerce Department, College Haripur Manali, District Kullu.
A total of six papers were presented in this session, discussing various topics such as the role of financial inclusion, sustainable economic growth in India, the geographic diversity and cultural adaptation of Himachal Pradesh, and the severity of climate change in the state.
At the conclusion of the conference, Atul Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Physics, Government College Banjar, presented a detailed report of the two-day event. Principal Dr. Renuka Thapliyal distributed certificates to the offline participants. Dr. Surendra Singh, the Convener of the conference, presented the vote of thanks.
Teachers from Government College Gadagusain and Government College Thachi also attended the conference and presented papers. Dr. Leena Vaidya and Dr. Sarwan Kumar served as moderators during the sessions.
In addition to Dr. Surendra Singh (Assistant Professor, Political Science) as the Convener, Dr. Shravana Kumar (Assistant Professor, Economics) as the Organizing Secretary, and Dr. Yograj (Assistant Professor, Public Administration) as the Co-Convener, the conference was supported by Shri Tikam Ram (Assistant Professor, History), Shri Sunny Negi (Principal, GC Gadagusain), and Shri Deep Kumar (Principal, GC Thachi), along with all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
