KISHTWAR: Mounting a fierce attack on the Congress party, BJP State Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir, Pawan Sharma, today said that Congress has unleashed a deliberate campaign of lies, fear-mongering, and misinformation against the VB–G RAM G Act 2025 out of sheer political panic. He asserted that the party is unnerved by a reform that genuinely empowers villages, dismantles corruption networks, and restores decision-making power to the people.
Addressing a District-level BJP Workshop in Kishtwar, Sharma said that Congress’s opposition to the Act exposes its deep-rooted hostility to transparency and decentralised governance. “Congress is rattled because the VB–G RAM G Act 2025 strikes at the very foundation of its politics—corruption, middlemen, and vote-bank manipulation,” he said.
“The political history of Congress is a story of deception and denial. For decades, it ruled India but never trusted the people, never empowered villages, and never allowed grassroots democracy to flourish. Rural India was kept dependent, voiceless, and exploited,” Sharma stated. “Today, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has enacted a law that delivers real power, accountability, and transparency to the grassroots, Congress is spreading lies to safeguard its failed and discredited legacy.”
Highlighting the significance of the legislation, Sharma said the VB–G RAM G Act 2025 is a decisive step towards true Gram Swaraj, ensuring participatory governance, judicious use of public funds, and strong, accountable local institutions. “This Act places authority where it belongs—in the hands of the people. That is exactly what frightens Congress the most,” he asserted.
Issuing a clear warning, Pawan Sharma said the BJP will aggressively counter Congress’s misinformation drive. “Every BJP worker will expose Congress’s lies village by village and household by household. We will confront propaganda with facts and falsehood with truth. Congress will not be allowed to mislead the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” he declared.
He further said that Congress’s resistance to the Act once again proves its anti-reform, anti-development, and anti-people mindset. “Congress cannot survive without opacity, dynastic control, and centralized power. Reforms that empower common citizens threaten its political relevance, which is why it is desperately opposing this historic law,” Sharma remarked.
Concluding his address, Pawan Sharma reaffirmed BJP’s unwavering commitment to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. “No amount of lies or political sabotage can derail the nation’s development journey. Under the decisive and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP will continue to strengthen democracy from the grassroots and ensure that development reaches the last person standing in the queue,” he said.
Prominent leaders present at the workshop included Ravi Parihar, District President; Lalit Sharma, Gulab Chand Bhagat, and Prashant Bhandari, General Secretaries; Suresh Sharma, District Convenor, VB–G RAM G Campaign, along with all district office bearers.
