KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress of construction of bunkers being taken up in border areas of the district. The meeting focused on assessing the status of ongoing works, identifying bottlenecks and ensuring timely completion of the remaining bunkers.

The DC was informed that, against a total of 802 bunkers taken up in Kathua district, including 717 individual and 85 community bunkers, as many as 796 bunkers have been completed so far. At present, only six bunkers are under execution including one community bunker and five individual bunkers, while the rest have already been completed and handed over.

He emphasized that the safety and security of border residents remains a top priority of the administration and any avoidable delay in completion of the works will not be tolerated.
