KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today visited Imam Baras at Shahoo Sachan and Wangaam to oversee the arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram by various departments. During the visit, DC took detailed stock of arrangements put in place by various departments to facilitate the people during the days of Muharram-ul-Haram.

He instructed the concerned officers to synergize efforts to ensure smooth observation of Muharram-ul-Haram and extend all requisite facilities to the devotees. The Department of PHE and PDD were asked to ensure adequate water and electricity supply with foolproof standby arrangements.

The concerned officers were directed by the DC to make all street lights of Imam baras functional and to provide requisite facilities to the people throughout the Muharram days. He also interacted with the people and representatives of the Shia community and listened to their issues and demands.

Others who were present on the occasion were DDC member Pahloo, M Ibrahim; DDC Devsar, Ishtiyaq Ahmad; ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACR, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone; Executive Engineers, Tehsildar, CMO, BDO, EOs and other officers.
