GANDERBAL: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today chaired a meeting of District Level Committee (DLC) here at DC office to discuss and approve cases received under Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) in the district.

After threadbare discussion on the cases of beneficiaries received, the committee approved all 444 cases of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other allied sectors. The DDC emphasized that the HADP was a major step towards creating a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem.

He also stressed the importance of meeting the targets within the timeframe set for the concerned departments. He assured all possible support from the district administration to facilitate the success of HADP in the district.

The meeting was attended by GM DIC, Bilal Mukhtar; CPO, Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer; Chief Agriculture Officer; Chief Horticulture Officer, AD Fisheries, District Manager NABARD, LDM and other committee members.

When he appointed me Editor-in-Chief of JK Monitor, he never treated me as an employee, but as a younger brother, offering warmth, trust, respect and invaluable guidance. I will always be grateful for his faith in me, his encouragement and the lessons he shared.

Dr. Ranjan was a rare and noble soul—humble, compassionate, intellectually brilliant and always willing to help others. A visionary thinker, he believed in using knowledge and abilities to make a meaningful difference. His influence lives on through the people he guided, the work he inspired and the countless lives he touched.

For me, he will always be the elder brother who believed in me and guided me with affection. I will cherish his kindness and lessons forever. May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A brilliant mind who studied at Netarhat Residential School and graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur before earning his PhD from the University of Maryland, Dr. Ranjan chose to return to India and dedicate his life to teaching, research and social good.

His pioneering work in networked systems, AI, robotics and biomedical applications—especially computer-vision tools for early detection of cancer and heart disease—reflected his deep belief that advanced technology must serve humanity.

For more than 15 years at JK Monitor, he remained a loyal friend, mentor and collaborator, marked by rare humility, intellectual integrity and quiet generosity. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Priya, you will be deeply missed. Your life continues to remind us that knowledge finds its highest purpose in the service of others.
