In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: Dr. Rajeev Bhagat, MLA Bishnah Assembly constituency, held a Public Darbar at the J&K BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu. The Public Darbar witnessed the participation of a large number of residents, and deputations from different parts of Jammu. Deputations from several areas including Ward 56 Gangyal, Bishnah, Wards 9 & 13 of Arnia, Apna Vihar, Karyal Brahmna, Sungli, Slair, Chak Keshav, Majua, Nandpur, Kanhal Chak Jarala, Chak Chua, Chagdha, Miran Sahib, Chinor, and others presented their grievances and developmental demands before the MLA. These ranged from urgent infrastructure needs to public utility improvements.

Key issues raised included the repair and replacement of electric poles, the requirement for agriculture pump sets, improvement of supply channels for irrigation, and construction of a D-tank in Arnia. Other requests covered the need for a playground in Chak Mian, fixing of drain gratings, proper maintenance of the drainage system, and resolution of water leakage from PHE pipelines. Concerns regarding inadequate solar lighting, tiling and construction at temple and cremation ground, street tiling, and the completion of pending PHE works were also highlighted.

Specific administrative issues, such as the posting of a new employee at Chak Jarala station, repair of wells, irregular water supply, and transfer of PDD connections were discussed. Residents also demanded the construction of a steel bridge at Aik Nallah, development of a path to the cremation ground, and barricading at the Dangal site in Slair.

Dr. Bhagat gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured that actionable issues would be resolved promptly. Immediate concerns were taken up directly with concerned departments via phone calls and official communication. For matters requiring longer-term attention, detailed written representations were prepared and forwarded to respective authorities to ensure timely redressal.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhagat reiterated the Modi Government’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the BJP’s approach to governance involves direct engagement with the people, reflecting the core philosophy of transparency, accessibility, and accountability. Er. T.K. Sharma, Co-convenor of the BJP Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, coordinated the proceedings of Darbar. He stressed on the seamless communication between the people and party leadership in the Public Darbar.
