In loving memory of Dr. Priya Ranjan: A mentor who treated me like family

JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member Raman Suri today extended heartfelt congratulations to the students of Jammu and Kashmir for their commendable performance in the recently announced Class 12th results by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE). In a statement, Suri praised the relentless hard work and dedication of students, while also acknowledging the pivotal role played by teachers and school management in achieving a satisfactory 75% pass percentage this year.

“The results of the Class 12th examinations reflect the determination and perseverance of our students, who have worked tirelessly to achieve their goals. I also extend my gratitude to the teachers for their unwavering commitment and exceptional efforts in guiding our youth. Their hard work deserves accolades,” said Raman Suri. Suri highlighted that students can breathe a sigh of relief with this year’s results, which mark a significant improvement in the overall performance over the past few years. “This is a proud moment for us, as students from government schools are making their mark. However, there is still much to be done to bridge the gap between government and private schools, as private institutions continue to outperform in results and merit lists,” he added.

Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Suri encouraged students to remain fearless in the face of examinations. “Our Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, always emphasizes the importance of students in his Mann Ki Baat addresses, offering invaluable guidance to help them overcome exam-related stress. He urges students to approach exams with confidence, and I echo his sentiments in motivating our youth to pursue their dreams with courage and determination,” Suri remarked.

A standout feature of this year’s results is the exceptional performance of girl students, who have once again outshone their male counterparts across science, commerce, and arts streams. Girls dominate the merit lists, continuing a trend seen in both board and university examinations. Suri emphasized the significance of this achievement in a union territory like Jammu and Kashmir, where the literacy rate among women has historically lagged behind men by about 10%.

“Our girls have proven that the era of low literacy rates is a thing of the past. They are soaring to new heights with their spirits high, setting an inspiring example for all. This is a matter of immense pride for Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated. While celebrating these achievements, Suri acknowledged the need for further efforts to uplift government schools to match the performance of private institutions.

He called for collaborative efforts from the School Education Department, teachers, and school management to ensure equitable opportunities for all students. Raman Suri reiterated the BJP’s commitment to supporting the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower the youth through quality education. “Let us continue to work together to nurture our students, who are the future of our nation. Their success is our success,” he said. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party continues to champion initiatives that uplift students and strengthen the education ecosystem.
