GHAGWAL: Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan, the Sub-Divisional Administration Ghagwal today launched a series of special land compensation disbursal camps across border villages of the subdivision. The camps aim to facilitate the expeditious disbursement of pending land compensation and rental claims pertaining to Border Fencing (135 ft), Border Out Posts (BOPs) and other border security infrastructure projects.
The first camp was organised at Panchayat Ghar, Chak Dulma, catering to the beneficiaries of Chak Dulma and Chak Sadda villages. The camp witnessed active participation from affected landowners, who availed themselves of on-the-spot assistance for the verification of ownership records, guidance on succession-related issues, scrutiny of title disputes and completion of other formalities necessary for the release of compensation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ghagwal KS Bali stated that the initiative aims to ensure the timely release of compensation to genuine beneficiaries and resolve long-pending cases at the grassroots level. He observed that several cases had remained pending due to incomplete revenue records, succession disputes, non-availability of claimants and other procedural deficiencies. The special camps provide a single-window mechanism for verification and resolution within the villages.
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate directed the revenue field functionaries to extend all possible assistance to affected landowners and ensure that all pending claims are processed in a transparent and time-bound manner. Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars and Patwaris concerned have been instructed to remain available during the camps with relevant revenue records to facilitate prompt disposal of cases requiring field verification. He further appealed to all affected landowners and beneficiaries to attend the camps on their scheduled dates along with the requisite documents.
The remaining camps will be conducted as per the notified schedule in the border villages of Challiyari, Chachwal, Regal, Siyal and Mangu Chak over the coming days. Among those present on the occasion were Tehsildar Rajpura Dr Karanjeet Singh and the revenue field staff.
