- Asks BJP to fix its own issues/ fighting instead of criticizing NC leadership
JAMMU: In a blistering attack on the BJP, Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of J&K National Conference (JKNC), accused the Saffron Party of being rattled by the announcement of Omar Abdullah’s candidacy in the upcoming Assembly elections. He made it clear that the BJP is visibly shaken and resorting to smear tactics against the INDIA Alliance, sensing a resounding defeat at the hands of the people.
"The moment our leadership confirmed Omar Abdullah’s candidacy, the BJP went into a state of panic. Their house is in complete disarray. Instead of engaging in meaningful debate on their dismal governance record, they are attempting to sow confusion and fear among the electorate. But let me tell you this – their tactics won’t work," said Gupta.
The senior NC leader said "The BJP, in sheer desperation, is trying to paint the INDIA Alliance in a negative light. But the INDIA Alliance is not just another political arrangement – it is a people’s movement that represents hope, unity, and progress. The BJP is running scared because they know they cannot match the credibility and vision of our alliance, especially in Jammu and Kashmir."
Referring to protests within BJP ranks, he said, "Even their own party leaders are dissatisfied, and this is evident in the growing dissent seen at their party headquarters in Jammu. BJP leaders themselves are unsure of their party’s direction. The ongoing protests and discontent within their own ranks speak volumes. They are a confused lot, unable to even unite their own house, let alone provide solutions for the people of Jammu and Kashmir” as their party leaders leaving the BJP with heavy hearts and joining NC and other India alliance parties.
Turning the spotlight on BJP’s track record in J&K, Rattan Lal Gupta further lambasted the BJP for its complete failure in governance, pointing out key issues such as inflation, unemployment, and recruitment scams that have plagued the region under their rule. "In ten years of BJP governance, what have they given to the people? Hundreds of farmers protested against anti farmers policies, inflation is at an all-time high, crime against women are on rise, youth are jobless, and the recruitment processes are riddled with scandals. Their hollow promises have brought nothing but misery to the common man," he remarked.
Highlighting the National Conference's manifesto, the Provincial President emphasised the pro-people promises made by the party, which sharply contrast with BJP’s empty rhetoric. "We have presented a manifesto that speaks directly to the needs of the people – Provides1 lakh Jobs to J&K Youths, MSP for farmers, 200 free power units, Rs 5000 monthly assistance to elderly female of each household of EWS, one gas cylinders Per month to each households of EWS, to increase free rice allocation to 10 kgs per person per month etc. This is not just talk; it is our commitment to ensure the welfare of every section of society."
Rattan Lal Gupta reaffirmed the vision of National Conference for a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the BJP’s attempts to derail the INDIA Alliance will fail miserably. "The BJP’s incompetence and divisive tactics will no longer fool the people of this region. The NC manifesto is for everyone – be it farmers, youth, women, or marginalized communities. We are committed to delivering on these promises, and no amount of fearmongering by the BJP will change that."
The National Conference, under the leadership of Omar Abdullah form a strong Government after 8th of October, 2024 and is set to offer a strong alternative to the BJP’s decade of failed governance, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir will not be misled by false narratives. The National Conference stands firm in its commitment to build a better future for the region, he added.
