- Expresses grief over Pilgrims’ deaths in Vaishno Devi landslide
NEW DELHI: In a fierce rebuke of the terrorist attack on the Sunjwan Army Station in Jammu, Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Er. Gulam Ali Khatana on Monday lambasted Pakistan, accusing it of systematically undermining peace in the region through its continued support of terrorism.
Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of an Indian Army soldier in the attack, Khatana did not mince words in attributing the violence to Pakistan’s persistent agenda of disruption. “Pakistan is relentlessly pursuing its mission to destabilise Jammu and Kashmir,” Khatana stated, highlighting how the neighboring country’s strategy of nurturing and exporting terrorism has once again claimed bravehearted lives and sought to create chaos in the region. He emphasized that these malicious actions would not go unanswered and vowed a robust response from the Indian government.
“Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Pakistan and the terrorists it shelters are facing an uncompromising crackdown,” Khatana asserted, making it clear that the government is fully committed to protecting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that every necessary measure would be taken to secure the region, particularly as it approaches the critical election period.
Khatana’s remarks underscored the heightened state of alert in Jammu and Kashmir, with security forces ramping up operations to thwart any further terrorist activities aimed at derailing the upcoming elections. “The Modi government is steadfast in its resolve to ensure that these elections are free, fair, and conducted in an atmosphere of peace, despite the ongoing threats posed by cross-border terrorism,” Khatana affirmed.
On a separate note, Khatana also expressed his profound grief over the tragic deaths of the pilgrims due to a landslide en route to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. The incident, which occurred on Monday, has cast a somber shadow over the pilgrimage, underscoring the perilous conditions that devotees often face in the region’s rugged terrain.
Khatana called on the authorities to prioritise the safety of pilgrims, urging for enhanced precautions and swift assistance to those impacted by the disaster. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, acknowledging the unpredictable challenges that natural calamities pose to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
As the region prepares for the upcoming elections, Khatana’s forthright statements reflect the BJP’s determination to tackle these multifaceted challenges head-on. His call for strong action against terrorism, coupled with a focus on safeguarding pilgrims, echoes a broader commitment to fostering stability and security in Jammu and Kashmir. In this critical period, the BJP leader’s message is one of resilience and unwavering resolve to protect the democratic process and ensure a secure future for the region’s citizens.
