JAMMU: The Department of Pension & Pensioners Welfare (DoPPW) organised Digital Life Certificate (DLC) camps in Jammu as part of the DLC Campaign 3.0 aimed at assisting pensioners with the digital submission of life certificates.Camps were held at different locations in Arnia, Bari Brahmna, Miran Saheb, R. S. Pura and in Mubarak Mandi.
Under Secretary from DoPPW, Pravesh Kumar visited the camp locations to assist pensioners in using various digital methods for life certificate submission. During the camp, the officers of UIDAI, SBI and IPPB assisted the pensioners. The Pensioners’ Welfare Associations also participated in the campaign.
DoPPW is organising the campaign across the nation with an objective to streamline the submission of life certificates for pensioners via Face Authentication technology. This approach allows pensioners to submit their certificates conveniently through Aadhaar-based face recognition on Android smartphones.
The 2022 campaign generated over 1.41 crore DLCs, with 42 lakh submissions from Central Government pensioners. The 2023 campaign, conducted at 100 locations, resulted in over 1.47 crore DLCs, with 45 lakh from Central Government pensioners.This year’s campaign has been organized in collaboration with Banks, India Post Payments Bank, Pensioners' Associations, UIDAI, MeitY, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Railways and DoT, aims to ensure that pensioners, especially super seniors and incapacitated individuals, can easily submit their life certificates. Camps have been set up nationwide and officials equipped with smartphones have assisted pensioners in branches of Banks and Post offices. Special provisions were made to include home visits for bed-ridden pensioners.
