- Massive Turnout at PM Modi’s Doda Rally Despite Terror Attack, Says MP Khatana
- Lauds Modi Govt’s Firm Approach in Tackling Terrorism in J&K
KISHTWAR: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Er Gulam Ali Khatana, while expressing condolences to the families of the two Army personnel martyred in a fierce gunfight in Chatroo, Kishtwar, reiterated that terrorism is in its final phase in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that the entire network of terrorism will soon be eradicated, bringing peace and stability to the region.
MP Khatana, who has been actively campaigning in Kishtwar for the party’s upcoming elections, emphasized that the recent surge in terrorist activities will not deter the people of the region, who have shown an unwavering commitment to democracy and support for the BJP. “Yesterday, I convened several meetings in Chatroo, and what struck me was the resolute spirit of the people. They are no longer living in fear; they are embracing democracy and backing the BJP,” he stated.
Referring to the martyrdom of the two Army personnel during the Chatroo encounter, Khatana highlighted the bravery of India’s armed forces and their ability to thwart any attempt by our neighbor country to destabilize peace in Jammu and Kashmir. “Such attempts by terrorists will not make any difference. The country is proud of its brave security forces, who are capable of countering any attempt by our neighbors to disrupt peace,” he added.
The BJP leader stressed that terrorism is on its last leg in the region, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are yearning for peace and progress. “The fear of anti-national elements no longer grips the people of this region. We have witnessed a change in the air, people want peace, and they want progress. Within 15 hours of the encounter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his scheduled rally in Doda, undeterred by these cowardly acts,” Khatana remarked.
He further pointed out that despite the terror attack in Chatroo, there was a massive turnout at the Prime Minister’s rally in Doda, which he described as a clear indication of the people’s trust in the leadership of PM Modi. “A sea of people arrived to listen to their beloved leader despite Pakistan’s ‘Napak’ (nefarious) attempts to destabilize the region. This shows that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are united in their commitment to peace and development,” Khatana said.
During his address at Doda, the Prime Minister had assured the families of the martyrs, as well as the entire nation, that the terror network would be wiped out. Khatana reiterated the Prime Minister’s message, stating, “The PM assured every citizen, whom he considers as family, that the network of terrorism will soon be eradicated. His determination to continue with the rally in Doda, despite the attack, demonstrates his unwavering commitment to a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.”
Khatana also lauded the efforts of the security forces, who, he said, have been relentlessly working to dismantle the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our security forces are successfully eradicating the terror infrastructure. The remaining terrorists will soon be flushed out from the soil of Jammu and Kashmir. Our leadership at the Centre has the capability to take decisive action to ensure the unity, safety, and integrity of the country,” he affirmed.
The BJP MP also praised the unity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who, regardless of religion or caste, have come together to support peace and development in the region. He said that the Modi government’s policies are designed to safeguard the larger interests of the people and to ensure that every citizen enjoys the benefits of peace and progress.
