• Satsang and Mahabhandara mark grand tribute to Sant Mat saints' messages of unity, meditation, and spiritual harmony

RS PURA: The 142nd birth anniversary of Sant Maharishi Mehi Paramhans was observed with great devotion and enthusiasm at Badyal Brahmana in RS Pura on Wednesday, drawing a large gathering of devotees and spiritual followers from across the region. The commemorative event began in the early morning with a traditional Prabhat Pheri, where devotees walked through the locality chanting bhajans and spreading the message of peace and spiritual awakening.

The procession created an atmosphere of devotion and reverence, reflecting the enduring influence of the saint’s teachings. Participants later assembled at the main venue to offer floral tributes to the revered saint, recalling his invaluable contribution to spiritual thought and his efforts to bridge diverse religious philosophies. A Satsang was organized, during which speakers and spiritual leaders highlighted the principles of Sant Mat, emphasizing meditation, inner realization, and the unity of all faiths.

Born on April 28, 1885, in Bihar, Sant Maharishi Mehi Paramhans devoted his life to the study and synthesis of sacred scriptures such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita, presenting their essence in a simple and accessible form. His efforts to harmonize diverse spiritual traditions have left a lasting imprint on society, inspiring countless individuals toward a path of righteousness and spiritual awakening.

A grand Mahabhandara (community feast) was also arranged, symbolizing equality and collective harmony, where people from all walks of life partook in the meal together. The event served not only as a spiritual gathering but also as a platform to strengthen social bonds and communal unity.

Speakers highlighted that Sant Mat, as propagated by Sant Maharishi Mehi Paramhans, has played a significant role in promoting inner transformation as the foundation for societal change. They noted that the teachings of Sant Mat have historically contributed to reducing social divisions by advocating equality, simplicity, and compassion. The doctrine encourages individuals to seek truth within, fostering a sense of responsibility, discipline, and moral integrity—values that are essential for building a harmonious and progressive society. Its stress on meditation and introspection has also helped individuals cope with stress, conflict, and the challenges of modern life, thereby strengthening mental and emotional well-being at the community level.

Speakers emphasized that in today’s fast-paced and often divided world, the teachings of Sant Mat offer a timeless framework for peace, coexistence, and ethical conduct. They called upon the younger generation to adopt these principles in daily life to build a more compassionate and united society. The programme concluded with collective prayers and a reaffirmation by devotees to follow the path shown by the great saint, ensuring that his message of unity, meditation, and universal brotherhood continues to guide future generations.

People from all sections of society sat together and shared meals, reinforcing the message of social inclusivity and collective harmony—principles deeply embedded in the Sant Mat tradition.
