JAMMU: The Department of English at the Central University of Jammu successfully organized a one-day departmental educational trip today. The programme was organized under the guidance of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain. It was carried out under the leadership of Head of the Department Dr. K. Rajesh.

The educational excursion was designed to promote experiential learning beyond the classroom, combining cultural exposure with academic engagement. The itinerary included visits to the scenic Mansar Lake, the historic Nand Babour Temple in Manwal, and the ancient Kiramchi Temple complex in the Udhampur district. These locations, known for their rich cultural, historical, and ecological significance, provided participants with valuable insights into the region’s diverse heritage.

The trip witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate students of BA 1st year, postgraduate students of MA 2nd and 4th semesters, and PhD scholars from the department. The presence of students across different academic levels fostered a vibrant and interactive learning environment, encouraging meaningful discussions and collaborative engagement throughout the journey.

The students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Neena Gupta Vij, Dr. M. A. A. Farooq, and Dr. Parveen, who actively guided and supported them throughout the trip. Faculty members emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives in fostering holistic development, critical thinking, and cultural awareness among students.
The trip concluded successfully, leaving participants with enriching experiences and a deeper appreciation of the region’s cultural landscape.
