JAMMU: Kranti Jyoti Savitribai Phule & Fatima Sheikh Pathshala, a modest yet impactful educational initiative, began its journey in May 2025 with a clear mission—to provide free, quality education to underprivileged students who cannot afford tuition. What started in a volunteer’s home in Mishriwala has now grown into a meaningful community-driven institution transforming young lives.

In its initial phase, a dedicated volunteer offered the first floor of his residence for classes while living on the ground floor. With minimal resources, students attended lessons seated on floor mattresses, reflecting both the scarcity of infrastructure and the determination of educators and learners alike. Gradually, support from another volunteer helped equip the Pathshala with basic facilities such as desks, chairs, tables, and whiteboards, significantly improving the learning environment.

The Pathshala has since shifted to its current premises near Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan in Gumpul, Domana, where it continues to expand its reach. During the 2025–2026 academic session, the institution taught 45 students from Classes 8th to 10th and achieved an impressive 100% pass rate, with several students earning distinctions and top positions.

Beyond academics, the Pathshala emphasizes holistic development. In an effort to contribute to a drug-free society, it has introduced extracurricular programs in music and arts, led by trained professionals. These activities aim to channel students’ creativity and energy into positive pursuits.

The faculty comprises qualified and passionate educators from diverse academic backgrounds, supported by a committed music team and a dedicated coordinator ensuring smooth operations.

Despite its progress, the Pathshala continues to face infrastructural challenges. The organizers invite community members and well-wishers to visit, share feedback, and extend support to strengthen this mission of educational and social upliftment.
