ANANTNAG & SHOPIAN: In a continued drive under the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, Police in Anantnag & Shopian, in coordination with district administration and revenue authorities, carried out strict action against illegal properties and assets linked to individuals involved in NDPS cases.

In Anantnag, multiple illegal roadside eateries constructed on state land along NH-44 at Sangam were demolished. The demolished structures included “Kashmir Restaurant (Dabba)” owned by Gul Mohammad Mir and Bashir Ahmad Mir, “Taj Restaurant (Dabba)” linked to Mohammad Maqbool Mir along with his sons Aijaz Ahmad and Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Mir, and “MIR Restaurant” belonging to Amma Mir. All are reportedly involved in NDPS-related FIRs registered at Police Station Bijbehara.

In Shopian, enforcement teams removed illegally planted poplar and cherry trees and demolished unauthorized shops constructed on state land. The actions targeted assets linked to Inayat Lone of Melhura, Abdul Hamid of Wachi, and Sajad Ahmad Dar of Marhenz, all involved in NDPS cases registered at Police Stations Zainapora and Shopian.

All operations were carried out strictly following legal procedures and in the presence of concerned civil and police officers. J&K reiterated their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and emphasized continued action against illegal assets linked to narcotics networks, while urging public cooperation in building a drug-free society.
