BUDGAM: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, J&K Police have apprehended a drug peddler in the Beerwah area of the district Budgam and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.

The operation was carried out by a police party of Police Post Hardpanzoo near Zabgulla Khanshaib. During the action, one individual identified as Ishfaq Ahmed Joo, son of Ab Rashid Joo, resident of Dobipora Khanshaib, was intercepted and subsequently apprehended. During his personal search, approximately 72 grams of charas-like substance, concealed in corn husks, was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 70/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Beerwah, and further investigation has been taken up.
